Dr Brendan Guthrie

Born and educated here in Brisbane, Brendan completed his Bachelor of Dental Science at the University of Queensland in 1985, where he graduated with first class honours. Prior to joining Toowong Dental Group in 1994, Brendan worked in regional Far North Queensland. He then moved back to Brisbane, working in a large private practice.

Brendan and his wife Kerri have a very busy home life with four adult sons, and in his spare time he is happiest sharing his love of boating and offshore fishing. He is also a passionate gardener and has a life long involvement in running.

Brendan attends many continuing education courses, and is very keen to keep on top of the latest information in both the science and the art of dentistry.

Dr Brendan Nasser

Brendan graduated from the University of Queensland in 1986, and has had over 30 years experience in private practice. Brendan undertook post- graduate study at the University of Oxford 1992 – 1994 before joining Toowong Dental Group in 1998.
 
Brendan has a busy family life with four teenage children. He has always been a great sports enthusiast, especially cricket and rugby, and has played representative rugby for the Australian Wallabies and the Queensland Reds.
 
Outside of Dentistry, Brendan spends his time assisting with  his childrens’ sporting teams, and implementing the Classic Wallabies’ Indigenous Exchange program which he founded in 2012.

Dr John Wilkinson

After graduating from the University of Queensland in 1991, John travelled to Hobart where he began his career working in private practice.

In 1995 he returned to his hometown of Brisbane to continue work in private practice and then The Teachers Union Health Dental Centre before joining Toowong Dental Group in 2003.
As a husband to Belinda and father of two children, Samuel and Ella, John says he enjoys Toowong Dental Group’s family oriented and professional environment.
 
John has a keen interest in Dental Sleep Medicine. Oral appliances can really help heavy snorers or sufferers of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA). John has over twenty years’ experience in this area and is very happy to assist you. Learn more about this treatment area.

Ciaran Brock  Toowong Dentist

Dr Ciaran Brock

Ciaran graduated as a dentist in 1988 and was awarded the Diploma in General Dental Practice from  the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1994.

As a resident in Australia since 1995, Ciaran has been a member of the team at Toowong Dental Group for over a decade.
Ciaran is meticulous in providing quality dental care and aims to build long term trusting relationships.

He is happy helping anxious patients overcome their fears.
Ciaran enjoys camping, hiking and running, and spending time with his wife Tara and their three young children.

 

 

Dr Rick Duhra

Rick was born and educated in the UK; obtaining his degree in dentistry at King's College London. 

After working in the UK, Rick made the move to Brisbane in 2011, and has embraced all that life in Australia has to offer.

He enjoys travel, and embracing new cultures. He can speak a moderate level of Spanish, and has been learning since 2014. Rick enjoys keeping fit, and plays as part of a waterpolo team.

Rick is skilled in all areas of dentistry, and firmly believes in making the experience as relaxed and comfortable as possible.

 

Dr Augustine "Augie" Ha

Originally from Sydney, Augie moved to the Gold Coast to obtain his dental degree in 2012. Augie has worked in private practice in Brisbane ever since.

Augie understands the value of treating every patient as if they were his family member. His gentle and caring nature will make you feel at ease, and he will explain all treatments option thoroughly to help you make an informed decision.

In 2022, Augie furthered his education, obtaining a graduate diploma in Dental implants to be able to offer it as a treatment option to his patients

In his spare time, Augie and his wife Kate are kept busy by their little girl, their cavy and two cats.

Dr Kiran Kumar - Endodontist

Dr Kiran Kumar completed his undergraduate degree in India, where he also subsequently undertook further specialist training, completing a Master’s degree in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics in 2000. He has worked as a specialist in both India and Abu Dhabi (UAE) prior to moving to Australia in 2010. In 2018 he was accepted into the Master’s program at the University of Queensland and completed formal training there in the discipline of Endodontics in 2020.Dr. Kumar has over 20 years of experience as an endodontist managing cases of complexity and difficulty. In 2007 he was awarded a Fellowship in the Royal Australasian college of Dental Surgeons by examination. Outside of dentistry, Dr Kumar’s interests include playing badminton, cricket, bush walking and spending time with family and friends.

Dr Eden Tam

Eden graduated from the University of Queensland in 2017 with Honours. Before joining Toowong Dental Group he was working in Toowoomba and Brisbane for 5 years. His kind and caring nature is great for those feeling anxious. Eden will take the time to listen to your needs and ensure you feel comfortable every visit.
He understands every patient comes with a different set of worries and concerns. You will always be informed of all treatment options and appropriate recommendations that suit you. His perfectionist nature means you will receive quality dental care and he is always pursuing further dental education. Eden is passionate about oral surgery, root canal therapy and prevention dentistry. Outside of work Eden enjoys staying active at the gym, hiking and camping.

 

Dr Jessica Sun

Born and raised in Brisbane, Jessica obtained her dental degree from Griffith University on the Gold Coast. Jessica has worked for many years in private practice while regularly attending continuing education courses. Jessica has a gentle, caring chair-side manner, and is passionate about educating and helping patients to have a great experience. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a particular interest in minimally-invasive restorative and cosmetic procedures. She is currently undergoing a post graduate diploma in Advanced Restorative and Cosmetic dentistry with the Australasian College of Dental Practitioners. Outside of work, you'll find her spending time with friends and family, listening to podcasts, travelling, and trying to win the love of her ambivalent ragdoll cats Lord Remington and Lady Lulu.
